Tunnel House
We walked along the towpath of the old Thames and Severn canal today. the tunnel is over 2 miles long, constructed in 1789 and abandoned in 1927. It enabled boats to cross the Cotswolds from the head of the navigable Thames at Lechlade to the Severn.
Hi George and Anita - you seem to be having a hard time of it. Missing posts, missing lunches, sore feet and knees. Mud and ploughed fields. I hope the weekend is warmer abd brighter for you both. The forecast looks good until next Tuesday.
I'm a retired Civil Servant, a volunteer cook for the Tall Ships Youth Trust and a School Governor at Kyson Primary School in Woodbridge. I was married for 33 years and now live close to my daughter and 2 grandchildren, who are the focus and joy of my life. I also love long-distance walking, cycling, gardening, reading, sudoku and too much else to mention. My philosophy on life is the same as my blood group (B+!!)
